Islam 101
There are 5 Pillars in Islam.
- Shahada
The shahada is what a Muslim believes and proclaims. This is when you testify that there is no other God or deity worthy of worship but Allah. And that the Prophet Mohammad (saws) is the last messenger. - Salat

Charity. A Muslim shares 2.5% of his wealth with those who are less fortunate. This occurs once every hijri year and serves as a means of purifying one’s wealth. - Sawm
Fasting is an obligatory act during the month of Ramadhan for all Muslims.

A Pilgrimage to Mecca. This obligation is placed upon those who are financially and physically able to complete one time in their life, inshAllah.
A Muslim’s purpose in this life is to worship Allah.
A Muslim can worship Allah by following and performing the actions listed above in the 5 Pillars.
